Our story
It started with one sauna on a Norfolk beach.
How it started
Tom Sutton · FounderHi, I'm Tom, founder of Sauna Box. I started the company with the simple desire to leave people a little bit happier and a little bit healthier. My passion for sauna had grown into a daily habit whilst living in London, and when I moved back home to Norfolk, I realised that sauna was the thing I missed most.
I wanted to share my passion for sauna and could not think of a better place for a post-sauna dip than the beautiful beaches of East Anglia. Myself and a friend built our first sauna trailer and I welcomed our first bathers in July 2021.
Over the next year I ran sauna pop-ups all over Norfolk and Suffolk, including taking saunas to Latitude festival, working with some incredible local companies, and even firing up a sauna for the Estonian Embassy in the middle of Hyde Park.
Where we are now
As our fleet of saunas started to grow, along with our team, we realised we wanted more than to share our passion for sauna locally. We wanted to be part of the movement growing sauna culture in the UK. This naturally led us to build saunas for others, with a focus on working with small businesses.
We now have a thriving workshop with a team of highly talented sauna builders. We've slowly found ourselves becoming the mobile sauna experts, along with offering home outdoor saunas across East Anglia.
And we've built and run our own community saunas on the Norfolk coast, most recently at Diss, so everything we hand a new operator, we've done ourselves first.
Our sauna builds reflect our aim of bringing high-quality sauna experiences to the people. We bring together old and new, repurposing horseboxes and containers with a beautiful sauna interior, so you could be sat in a sauna just about anywhere.

Two people who fell for sauna, learned to build them properly, and set out to help others do the same. We still get in the cold water most mornings.
Ryan Scollan · DirectorRyan came to Sauna Box from elite performance. He read sports science at Loughborough, then spent years in the field coaching championship teams like 100 Thieves and Fnatic, and building then selling a performance company along the way. His thing is systems: the belief that pressure does not make you, it exposes what you have built underneath. That is exactly what he brings here: the numbers, the playbooks and the support that turn "I'd love a sauna business" into one that actually holds up, for operators and for venues.

Build the spaces
We build proper saunas. Real heat, honest materials, made to last in our Suffolk workshop. The room has to be right before anything else can be.
Teach the ritual
Heat, cold, rest, repeat. We show people how to actually use a sauna, because the ritual is where the good stuff lives, not the kit.
Grow the culture
Sauna is better shared. We help operators open community saunas and bring people together, growing a calmer culture of rest across the UK.
